Job Title:  Personal Injury Lawyer (Division Lead)

Position Overview (at this time this position is confidential).

 The firm is establishing a new personal injury practice and is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Lawyer to lead this initiative. This position offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to build and manage a dedicated practice within a structured environment.

The successful candidate will be supported by two legal clerks and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of file management, strategy, and client outcomes.

The role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of personal injury matters, not limited to motor vehicle accident claims. Files will vary in complexity and value, requiring strong analytical and strategic capabilities.

An important aspect of the role is the ability to identify and develop file value over time, including recognizing cases that may evolve due to non obvious or emerging medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of personal injury files from intake through resolution
• Provide direction and oversight to two legal clerks, ensuring efficient file progression and administrative support
• Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement potential at all stages of a file
• Develop and implement case strategy, adapting as new medical or factual information becomes available
• Contribute to the establishment and growth of the personal injury division
• Maintain high standards of client service and professional conduct

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience practicing personal injury law
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage files with minimal supervision
• Experience supervising or working closely with legal clerks or support staff
• Strong judgment in assessing case value, risk, and litigation strategy
• Ability to manage a mixed caseload, including both high value and volume based matters
• Interest in contributing to the development of a new practice area
• Familiarity with the legal AI framework is a strong asset

Compensation

• Base salary up to $180,000, commensurate with experience
• Performance based bonus structure
• Total compensation will be aligned with experience and demonstrated capability

Work Environment

• This is an in office position
• The role operates within a lean team structure consisting of one lawyer and supervising a Paralegal and a clerk / assistant
