Service Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead the day to day operations of a busy dealership service department. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving customer satisfaction, improving profitability, developing the service team, and ensuring an exceptional ownership experience.
This role is ideal for a hands on leader who enjoys coaching people, improving processes, and delivering strong operational results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the service department, including technicians, advisors, apprentices, and support staff.
- Achieve departmental sales, gross profit, labor efficiency, and customer satisfaction objectives.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators including labor sales, effective labor rate, technician productivity, proficiency, efficiency, and revenue per repair order.
- Recruit, coach, train, and develop employees while fostering a positive and accountable team culture.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer standards.
- Manage repair order quality, warranty compliance, and departmental processes.
- Work closely with the Parts Department to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturer representatives and ensure compliance with all factory requirements.
- Control departmental expenses while maximizing profitability.
- Analyze financial statements and operational reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Automotive Service Manager or Assistant Service Manager.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Proven ability to drive sales, profitability, and operational performance.
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
- Strong understanding of dealership operations and fixed operations financials.
- Experience with dealership management systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within a franchised automotive dealership.
- Knowledge of manufacturer warranty policies and procedures.
- Experience leading high volume service operations.
- Familiarity with technician performance management and workflow optimization.

Salary is depending on experience ($80,000 to $120,000)
